Dutchess County resident George Foster, age 39, of Wappinger, was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 16, said Trooper AJ Hicks.

On Oct. 16, troopers began investigating the theft of catalytic converters at the Sheep and Wool Festival hosted by the Dutchess County Fair Grounds, Hicks said.

With the assistance of the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, an investigation determined Foster entered the fairgrounds parking areas and removed the catalytic converters from three Honda Elements, he added.

Foster was arrested and charged with four counts of grand larceny and auto stripping.

He was released on an appearance ticket.
